NatWest has confirmed a significant investment in its branches across three cities: Bath, Plymouth, and Taunton. The bank is spending £375,000 on its Bath branch, £330,000 on its Plymouth City Centre branch, and £295,000 on its Taunton branch, totalling £1 million.
Investment details and improvements
The refurbishments aim to modernise the branches with new technology, making banking faster and more accessible. The upgrades also include improved working environments for staff, with enhanced facilities and development opportunities.
Mark Campbell-Smith, Branch Manager for the City of Bath, said: “We’re incredibly proud to shine a light on our refurbished branch in Bath. This significant investment reflects just how important our community is to us. By introducing new technology, we’re making banking faster, more personal and more accessible.”
Commitment to the South West
Dipesh Mistry, Regional Director of Branch Banking for Central England, South West & Wales at NatWest, emphasised the bank’s dedication to the region. “The South West is a vibrant and diverse region, with proud communities, ambitious businesses and enormous potential for growth. At NatWest, we’re committed to playing our part in that future by investing in places like Bath, supporting customers face-to-face and helping local economies thrive.”
NatWest has pledged to keep its branches open until at least 2029, underscoring its commitment to face-to-face banking.
Taunton branch transformation
Mark Stephens, NatWest Branch Manager for Taunton Town, described the investment as “an exciting new chapter.” He said: “The refreshed space has completely transformed how we can support people, from a more welcoming, immediate service on entry to faster and more reliable banking through improved technology. It’s also made a real difference behind the scenes, with upgraded facilities and development opportunities for our team.”
Dipesh Mistry also commented on the Taunton investment: “Our promise to keep our branches open until at least 2029 reflects our commitment that we are here to grow alongside the communities we serve.”
Plymouth city centre upgrade
Joanne Barham, NatWest Branch Manager for Plymouth City Centre, expressed delight at the refurbishment. “We’re delighted to bring this newly refurbished branch to Plymouth, following a substantial investment that demonstrates our long-term commitment to the city. The improvements mean we can offer a more modern, welcoming and efficient banking experience, with customers supported as soon as they arrive.”
She added: “We’ve also significantly enhanced our colleague spaces and development programmes, creating an environment where our team can thrive. When our people feel supported, our customers feel it too, and that’s what this investment is all about.”
