The Navigation Inn in Lapworth is set to reopen its doors after months of closure, with new landlords vowing to bring back the 'good old days' of the historic village pub.
Closure and Rescue
The pub, located on Old Warwick Road, ceased trading in July last year after over a century of service. It was one of six sites that closed when parent company Oakman Inns entered administration.
Now, the pub has been saved by familiar faces: Charlie Roberts and Christopher Wallis, who also own Tom O' The Wood in nearby Rowington. The duo will manage both establishments, which are just minutes apart.
Reopening Plans
The Navigation Inn will officially reopen on Monday, May 25, with live music starting at 2pm. In a social media post, Tom O' The Wood announced: 'You may have noticed we've been a little busy and not around as much. Here is why. We've taken on the Navi to try and bring back a beautiful village pub to its good old days.'
The post concluded with an invitation: 'Who's joining us for the opening party?'
The reopening is expected to be a significant boost for the local community, which has missed the pub since its closure. The new landlords aim to restore the pub's traditional charm and atmosphere.
