Gordon Ramsay has ended one of the most talked-about feuds in the culinary world, reuniting with former mentor and rival Marco Pierre White. The pair were seen embracing outside a Mayfair restaurant while filming an upcoming series alongside chef Heston Blumenthal.
A Remarkable Turnaround
The reunion marks a dramatic shift in a relationship that began when Ramsay worked under White at his Michelin-starred restaurant Harveys in Wandsworth early in his career. Ramsay later described the experience as one where he "cried in the kitchen" and "went to hell and back," working 18-hour days, six days a week. Decades of rivalry now appear replaced by mutual respect, with the chefs laughing and filming together.
In 2025, Ramsay also reconciled professionally with fellow chef Marcus Wareing after a fallout dating back to 2008. That reunion surprised many fans, but the collaboration with White is even more unexpected given their history.
Joining Forces with Heston Blumenthal
The new project brings together three of Britain's most influential culinary figures: Ramsay, White, and Heston Blumenthal, whose innovative approach to fine dining helped redefine British cuisine in the 1990s and 2000s. Together, they have transformed the international reputation of British restaurants.
Embracing Grandfatherhood
The reconciliations come as Ramsay, who turns 60 later this year, prepares to become a grandfather. Daughter Holly Ramsay announced she is expecting her first child with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, a baby girl due in December. Ramsay admitted on Gary Lineker's podcast The Rest Is Football that he is "secretly petrified" about the arrival. "Until they can talk and communicate with you, you can't do much," he joked. "We're not going to f****** breastfeed, are we?"
Despite his nerves, Ramsay expressed excitement at becoming "Grandad Gordon," writing on social media: "Congratulations to you both... I'm going to be a very overexcited Grandad especially this Christmas."
Family Milestones
Ramsay and wife Tana share six children: Megan, twins Jack and Holly, Tilly, Oscar, and Jesse James. At Holly and Adam's wedding reception last year, Ramsay opened up about the emotion of seeing his daughter walk down the aisle. "It's tough, honestly," he said. "Being the dad with three daughters, you dream of that moment and that moment arrives and you're just like a hot mess."
Ramsay has also formed a close bond with Adam, revealing that the Olympic swimmer now calls him "Dad." "He messaged me and said, 'Hey dad, what have you got?' And it's just like, 'Oh my God.' Incredible," Ramsay shared.
