The transfer represents a massive profit for Villa, who signed Rogers from Middlesbrough in February 2024 for an initial £8 million, potentially rising to £15 million with add-ons.

During his time at Villa Park, Rogers made 125 appearances under manager Unai Emery. He played a pivotal role in the club's silverware success in May, scoring the third goal in a 3-0 victory over SC Freiburg in the Europa League final.
