Greggs Unveils New Wolverhampton Store Following Branch Relocation
Greggs has officially opened a brand-new store in the West Midlands, marking a significant development just days after the closure of two existing branches in the area. The bakery chain confirmed that its latest location at 56 Dudley Street in Wolverhampton began serving customers earlier today, on February 13, 2026.
Relocation from Previous Branches
This opening comes in response to recent announcements regarding the shutdown of two Greggs outlets in Wolverhampton. Specifically, the Mander Centre informed customers about the closure of a Greggs store within the mall, alongside another branch in the city. Greggs has clarified that the store previously located at 3 Dudley Street has now been relocated to the larger premises at number 56, consolidating operations into a single, more spacious location.
New Job Creation and Product Offerings
The new branch is not just a relocation but also a source of employment, with the addition of one new job to the existing team. Customers can look forward to a wide array of classic Greggs favorites, including the iconic Sausage Roll and Steak Bake. In addition to these staples, the store will feature a range of beverages, such as the new Iced Matcha lineup, available in three distinct flavors:
- Iced Matcha Latte
- Vanilla Iced Matcha Latte
- Strawberry Iced Matcha Latte
Convenience and Operating Hours
For those preferring to enjoy Greggs from the comfort of their homes, the new Wolverhampton shop offers multiple delivery and pickup options. Customers can place orders through Just Eat and UberEATS or utilize the click-and-collect service via the Greggs app. The store's operating hours are as follows:
- Monday to Saturday: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Statement from Greggs Leadership
Gillian Long, Retail Operations Director for Greggs, expressed enthusiasm about the new opening. "We're excited to be welcoming customers to our new and improved shop in Wolverhampton, with one new member joining the existing team," she said. "We look forward to providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favorites."
This move underscores Greggs' commitment to enhancing its retail presence in the West Midlands, despite recent branch closures, by investing in a larger, more accessible location that promises to better serve the local community with both employment opportunities and beloved food offerings.
