Major UK Fashion Retailer LK Bennett Announces Final Website Closure with Massive Discounts
In a significant development for the UK retail sector, luxury fashion chain LK Bennett has confirmed it will permanently shut down its official website within days. The closure comes with an unprecedented online exclusive sale, offering customers at least 80% off everything, with some items discounted by up to 90%.
Final Opportunity for Luxury Fashion Bargains
The company has launched what it describes as "our biggest offer ever" across its entire collection of high-end dresses, shoes, tailoring, and accessories. A spokesperson for LK Bennett stated via London Now: "There are some truly exceptional offers available across all categories. Everything has been reduced, including new season pieces."
The retailer has advised customers that this represents their final chance to shop through the LKB website before it closes permanently. The message to shoppers is clear: "It's your final few days to shop the LKB website before it closes."
Administration and Business Restructuring
This website closure follows the company's entry into administration earlier this year. The LK Bennett brand and related intellectual property were subsequently sold to US firm Gordon Brothers, which also owns well-known UK brands including Laura Ashley and Poundland.
However, it's important to note that the physical LK Bennett stores were not included in this transaction and continue to operate under administration. These brick-and-mortar locations are also offering significant discounts, with at least 70% off everything for a limited time.
Financial Challenges and Covenant Breaches
The company's financial difficulties became apparent last year when auditor Grant Thornton highlighted "material uncertainty related to going concern" in their reports. The accounting group revealed that LK Bennett had breached agreements with its lenders and faced a deadline to renegotiate its substantial debt pile.
Grant Thornton further warned: "It is expected that there may be a breach [of debt covenants] again... Although a letter has been obtained from the bank stating their intention to continue to make all facilities available until at least 31 January 2026, no formal waiver of the covenants has been obtained."
Customer Response and Inventory Clearance
The company anticipates strong demand for these final clearance offers, with key styles expected to sell out quickly. The LK Bennett spokesperson added: "We anticipate strong demand and expect key styles to sell through quickly; we would like to thank our loyal customers for their support over the years and invite them to shop early to avoid disappointment."
This website closure represents the latest chapter in the luxury retailer's restructuring efforts, which began with clearance offers in January. While the online platform will cease operations, the brand continues through its physical stores and under new ownership of its intellectual property assets.
