Sky has confirmed a major shake-up resulting in the permanent closure of 21 TV channels from Monday, July 20, 2026. In addition, several channels will be rebranded, including temporary name changes for Nick Jr. PAW Patrol and Sky Directors.
Channels Closing Permanently
The closures primarily affect BBC regional HD channels on Sky Glass and Stream platforms. The following channels will cease broadcasting permanently:
- BBC One London HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 926)
- BBC One North East HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 927)
- BBC One North West HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 928)
- BBC One Yorkshire HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 929)
- BBC One Yorkshire & Lincolnshire HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 930)
- BBC One West Midlands HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 931)
- BBC One East Midlands HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 932)
- BBC One East HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 933)
- BBC One South East HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 934)
- BBC One West HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 935)
- BBC One South HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 936)
- BBC One South West HD RT (Sky Glass & Stream 937)

Channel Rebrands
In addition to the closures, four channels will undergo name changes. On Monday, July 20, the following rebrands take effect:
- Nick Jr. PAW Patrol (Satellite 612 – Glass/Stream 208) renames to Nick Jr. Peppa (temporary change)
- Nicktoons (Satellite 605 – Sky Glass/Stream 206) renames to Nick Alvinnn!!!
- Sky Directors (Satellite 303 – Sky Glass/Stream 303) changes name to SkyKarateKidHD (temporary change)
On Saturday, July 25, Sky Karate Kid (Satellite 303 – Sky Glass/Stream 303) will change name to Sky Jaws HD (temporary change).
Total Impact
In total, 24 channels are affected from Monday, with 21 closing permanently and three rebranding. Including the Saturday rebrand, there will be 25 changes overall, with four channels receiving new names this week.
