Record Energy Efficiency Achieved

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has announced significant milestones in its sustainable growth strategy for 2025. The company achieved a record power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.2 across its global portfolio, representing a 15% improvement from 2020 levels. This metric measures the energy efficiency of data centers, with lower values indicating less energy wasted on cooling and other overheads.

Renewable Energy Adoption Surges

STT GDC also reported that 65% of its total electricity consumption now comes from renewable sources, up from 45% in 2023. The company has signed long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) for solar and wind energy in Singapore, India, and the United Kingdom. According to STT GDC CEO Bruno Lopez, "Our commitment to sustainability is not just about reducing our carbon footprint; it's about driving innovation and efficiency that benefit our customers and the planet."

Water Conservation and Waste Reduction

In addition to energy improvements, STT GDC implemented water-saving technologies that reduced water usage by 20% per megawatt of IT load. The company also achieved a 95% recycling rate for e-waste and construction debris across its facilities. These efforts align with the company's goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
