The Belfry Classic Golf Day made a highly anticipated return to one of golf's most celebrated greens, electrifying the world-renowned Brabazon course for a second consecutive year and raising an impressive £100,000 for charity.
Star-Studded Lineup and Activities
Hosted by sports presenter and award-winning journalist Dan Walker, the exclusive annual event in the Midlands brought together sporting and entertainment legends on the only championship course to have hosted the Ryder Cup a record four times. Among the participants in the action-packed four-ball formation were model and former rugby union player Thom Evans, ballroom dancer and Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole, actor Danny Walters, five-time Olympic swimmer Mark Foster, and an all-female influencer team comprising Anna Halliday, Zainab Jeppe, Bethan Roberts, and Sophie Stone.
Joining them were cricketer Chris Broad, singer Brian McFadden, Gladiator Giant (Jamie Bigg), choreographer and former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan, and singer Keith Duffy, who was named Best Celebrity Golfer. With Turkish Airlines as headline sponsor, the invite-only event featured a range of onsite activities, including wine tasting with English sparkling wine producer Silverhand Estate, bourbon tasting with Elijah Craig, and 'Curry on the Green' offering Indian cuisine from Five Rivers À La Carte, which also fielded the winning golf team.
Gala Dinner and Fundraising
The Belfry Classic, sponsored by Maserati, TaylorMade, Louis XIII, Golf Breaks, Monster, Budweiser, and Cassidy Group, also included a spectacular gala dinner. Designed by renowned chef John Williams MBE of The Ritz London and supported by 19 sous-chefs, the Michelin-starred chef served over 300 guests a home-smoked VAR salmon starter, Dorset lamb main, and salted hazelnut mousse dessert. Guests enjoyed multiple drinks receptions, a live auction, and a magnificent afterparty.
The funds raised will support two of The Belfry's partner charities: Hospitality Action, which aids hospitality workers in crisis with financial assistance and mental health resources, and the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, which helps individuals and families affected by MND and funds research.
