A Black Country father has been left 'lost for words' after raising an astonishing £91,465 for Dementia UK. Manny Singh Kang, who has already raised hundreds of thousands for charity, saw his latest Samosa Saturdays event alone bring in £7,000.
Last month, Kang, a devoted Wolverhampton Wanderers fan, walked to London and ran the London Marathon, raising over £80,000. However, it was this weekend that he described as 'the most emotional day' when he returned home for Samosa Saturdays.
Cooking and selling samosas for a small charitable donation, Kang said he 'cried with many' who thanked him for his contributions to Dementia UK. On social media, he posted: 'The most emotional day ever. I met so many, I shook a thousand hands and I cried with many of you as you thanked me and told me about the trauma you live with because of dementia.'
He added: 'Today at our 25th Samosa Saturday we have raised another incredible £7,261. Absolutely mind-blowing total which now means, with the challenge last week, the total for this week is at a staggering £91,465. I'm lost for words.'
Kang expressed his gratitude, saying: 'The world is great if we focus on the stuff that makes us great. This beautiful energy that lives in us all! The deepest most heartfelt thank you from my family to yours.'
Donations to Kang's fundraiser can still be made to support Dementia UK. If you have a story for the journalists, email newsdesk@birminghammail.co.uk.
