Friends of tragic crash victim Natasha Thorp, 21, hold charity fundraiser
Charity fundraiser for 'one-in-a-million' crash victim

The friends of a young woman tragically killed in a road collision are organising a special event to celebrate her life and support a vital cause.

A Life Cut Short

Natasha Thorp, a popular 21-year-old known affectionately as Tash, died after being hit by a car on Brassington Avenue in Sutton Coldfield. The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Friday, August 22.

In a heartfelt tribute, her family described Natasha as a 'one-in-a-million' individual whose life was 'filled with love, laughter, and joy.' They expressed their profound grief, stating that imagining a future without her was incredibly difficult.

A Celebration and Fundraiser in Her Honour

To honour her memory, friends have arranged a charity fundraiser dubbed a 'Celebration of Tash's Life'. The event is scheduled for tonight, Friday, November 7.

It will be held at The Royal on High Street in Sutton Coldfield, which has generously donated the space free of charge. The event is a private gathering, with tickets available exclusively to those who knew Natasha personally.

The aim of the rave is to raise money for Brake, the national road safety charity.

Community Support and Ongoing Investigation

In their statement, Natasha's family extended their thanks to the emergency services who fought to save her, and to the local community. They expressed particular gratitude to the 'wonderful people of Sutton Coldfield' and those who stayed with and tried to help Natasha on the night she died.

'It’s very important to our family to know that she wasn’t alone at the end,' the family's tribute read.

It was also reported that another pedestrian was struck by the same vehicle and sustained a leg injury. West Midlands Police confirmed in September that their investigation is ongoing, and a man remains on bail with strict conditions.

A spontaneous memorial featuring flowers and photos has grown at the site on Brassington Avenue, a testament to the deep affection felt for the much-loved young woman.
