A Norfolk housebuilder has pledged £3,000 to a charity that supports young people and families in the area. The Benjamin Foundation is a vital asset for those striving to overcome a range of life’s barriers.
Through a range of services focusing on housing and homelessness, emotional wellbeing and training and work skills, the charity provides stability for at-risk young people on their journey to independence. They were delighted to receive a funding boost from Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia.
Antony Oram, from The Benjamin Foundation, said: “We are deeply connected to the local community, supporting over 3,000 local children and young people. Moving forward, we hope to continue this work, delivering positive outcomes to at-risk children, young people and families across Norfolk and Suffolk.
“The donation from Barratt and David Wilson Homes will make a vital impact on supporting young people and families, helping us to continue providing hope, opportunity, stability and independence to local communities who need it most. We’re incredibly thankful for the housebuilder’s support.”
The housebuilder’s donation was made through its Community Fund scheme via The Barratt Redrow Foundation. It is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which they operate.
This year, the Barratt Redrow Foundation is celebrating its fifth anniversary. Since its launch, it has committed £20m to charities and good causes, supported more than 2,000 different charities and is estimated to have directly impacted 100,000 young people each year.
Simon Wood, from Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia, said: “It’s pleasing to hear our £3,000 donation will have a direct positive impact on those in need across the region and help support people on their journey to independence.”
