I'm a Celeb's Angry Ginge Reveals House Fire Killed Three Pets

Morgan Burtwistle, better known as Angry Ginge, has revealed that a devastating fire at his mother's home claimed the lives of three pets. The YouTube star and winner of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here shared the heartbreaking news in an update on his Twitch stream.

Details of the Fire

The fire broke out on Tuesday, June 1, at his mother's property in Bacup. At the time of the incident, his mother was in London with him, preparing to watch him play in the Soccer Aid charity match on Sunday, May 31. Burtwistle noted that this was the first night in weeks she had been away from home, and the match was unusually scheduled, which likely saved her life.

Loss of Pets

In an emotional statement, Burtwistle confirmed the deaths of his mother's two cats, Simba and Herbert, and a rabbit named Sparky. He said, "They obviously didn't survive, so rest in peace, Simba, rest in peace Herbert, and rest in peace Sparky." He added that the animals were "unbelievable" and that he had lived with them while staying with his mother.

Mother's Safety

Burtwistle expressed relief that his mother was not home, saying, "If my mum was in the house, she wouldn't have made it out." He described the fire as so severe that the house's shell is still standing but the interior was destroyed. He tearfully noted, "I almost feel as though there was someone looking down that night."

Rebuilding and Charity

The social media star announced that he and his mother will document the rebuilding process on his YouTube channel. He emphasised that he is not seeking profit, stating, "The insurance is gonna pay out, any money made off the videos, I'll give to a homeless charity in Manchester." He vowed to make the house "the best house my mum ever has, or ever lives in."

Cause of Fire Unknown

The cause of the fire remains undetermined. Burtwistle reflected on the timing, noting that Soccer Aid was normally not scheduled for that week. He said, "I thank God, I did pray, I thanked whomever it may be." He concluded, "Mum's okay, and that's what matters."
