The annual Pub to Pub Half Marathon Run/Walk has successfully brought together walkers, runners, supporters, and local businesses to raise an incredible £20,000-plus for two vital charities: CRY – The Aaron Dixon Memorial Fund and Cancer Research North West.
Event Highlights
Participants completed the hilly 13-mile route from The Swan in Tarporley to The Lion at Malpas, enjoying the stunning Cheshire countryside while raising funds for causes that are making a significant difference to countless lives. The event concluded with a barbecue at The Lion, where runners, walkers, and their families enjoyed great food, drink, and a very happy atmosphere.
The annual event once again demonstrated the strength of community spirit, with individuals, groups, and businesses coming together in support of the charities. New for 2025, Instinct Gym in Tarporley provided an energising warm-up session before the start, adding an extra element of fun to the day.
Organisers' Gratitude
Woody Barlow, Founder and Director of Bear Inns, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the success of this year's Pub to Pub Run/Walk. To raise more than £20,000 for two charities that mean so much to so many people is an incredible achievement and a testament to the generosity, commitment, and community spirit shown by everyone involved."
"It was fantastic to see so many people taking part, supporting one another, and enjoying the beautiful route between our pubs. Events like this demonstrate what can be achieved when communities come together for a common cause. On behalf of Bear Inns, I'd like to thank every participant, volunteer, supporter, and especially our main sponsor, Barlows, who helped make the day such a success."
Charities Supported
Funds raised will support the ongoing work of CRY – The Aaron Dixon Memorial Fund, which raises awareness of cardiac risk in the young, and Cancer Research North West, which funds pioneering cancer research and patient care initiatives across the region.
Future Plans
Following the overwhelming success of this year's event, organisers are already looking ahead to next year's Pub to Pub Walk and hope to build on the fantastic momentum generated by the local community.
