St Mary's Balderstone raised £240 for Springhill Hospice at a quiz night held last weekend, with volunteers from the church family organizing the event. The church thanked everyone who attended, calling the volunteers 'superstars.'

Upcoming Events at St Mary's Balderstone

This morning, the monthly women's breakfast takes place from 9am in the parish room, offering friendship, a short Bible thought, and a free breakfast. The theme is the meaning of the 'sabbath day.' All ladies are welcome with no sign-up required.

Tomorrow at 10.30am, an all-age service will be held with no Sunday school but children are welcome. The sermon series 'The Gospel for all' continues in Romans, focusing on chapter 12 verses 1-2. Refreshments follow the service.

A Sunday evening prayer meeting runs from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in the parish room, offering a relaxed space for prayer and reflection. All are welcome regardless of belief.

SMUrFs, the babies and toddlers' group, meets each Tuesday during term time at 1.30pm for children aged 0-5, costing £1 for one adult with child and 30p for each additional child.

Midweek groups meet on Tuesdays at 10am in the church lounge and at 7.30pm on Zoom, studying the book of Samuel.

A free family fun day is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, featuring inflatables, face painting, games, BBQ food, live music, and more. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

St Chad's and St Mary in the Baum Events

Today, Saturday, June 27, at St Chad's at noon, Saturday Midday Music features pianist Callum Bissom performing Chopin, Rachmaninov, and Metner. Admission is £6 including light refreshments from 11.30am.

Tomorrow, Sunday, June 28, the Fourth Sunday after Trinity, services include Eucharist at St Mary's at 9.15am and Choral Eucharist at St Chad's at 11.15am, with Rev Pamela Parr officiating.

Each Monday at St Mary's from 10am to 2pm, the Red Cross provides help for refugees with free refreshments. Next Wednesday, July 1, the Toad Lane Lunchtime Concert features Notability Choir from 12.30pm to 1.30pm, admission £6.

St Chad's, a Grade 2 listed building, is open to visitors Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm throughout summer. Donations are welcome. Gardening takes place Wednesdays 1pm-3pm, and cleaning Thursdays 10.30am-noon; volunteers are welcome.
