Redrow Gives £20,000 to Martin House Children's Hospice

Housebuilder Redrow has donated £20,000 to Martin House Children’s Hospice, as part of an ongoing pledge to give £100 from every private home sale to local good causes. The donation, handed over by Redrow Yorkshire, aims to turn major life milestones for homebuyers into meaningful support for families in need.

Support for Hospice Services

Based in Wetherby, Martin House operates around the clock, 365 days a year, providing essential respite, symptom control, and end-of-life care to approximately 550 families across Yorkshire. The hospice faces annual running costs of £13 million, the vast majority of which must be raised through voluntary donations and community partnerships.

Beth Brown, partnerships manager at Martin House Children’s Hospice, said: “At Martin House Children’s Hospice, we are incredibly grateful to our partners Redrow. The impact that Redrow have had during their many years of support is invaluable to the babies, children, young people and families that Martin House supports.”

Funding for Special Events

Brown added that the recent donation could fund the hospice’s ‘LodgeFest’, a fully accessible music festival for young people, featuring live bands, street food, and a range of activities. “Helping them and their families to create precious memories together,” she said.

Redrow Yorkshire’s managing director John Handley said: “We have supported Martin House Children’s Hospice for many years. The hospice provides an invaluable service to families across Yorkshire during some of the most challenging times in their lives. We are incredibly proud to play a small part in helping them continue their vital work.”

Broader Community Impact

Through its pledge to donate funds per house completed, Redrow has donated around £60,000 to Yorkshire charities this year, including £20,000 to the bed poverty charity Zarach.
