Firefighters at Tumble Fire Station were delighted to welcome Liwsi and her family during their drill night earlier this week. The courageous young girl from Cefneithin is living with two ultra-rare genetic conditions: Cri du Chat Syndrome and an Xq28 Duplication Translocation. Each condition is rare on its own, but their combination is believed to be unique, with Liwsi currently thought to be the only known child in the world with this exact pairing. As a result, she requires a range of specialist treatments and equipment to support her ongoing care.
Charity Car Wash Event
In support of Liwsi and her family, Tumble Fire Station will host a charity car wash on Saturday, June 20, from 10am until 3.30pm. All proceeds will be shared equally between funding Liwsi’s essential treatments and supporting the Fire Fighters Charity. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) encourages the local community to attend, show their support, and have their vehicles cleaned by the crew while contributing to two meaningful causes.
