A 22-year-old man has been taken into custody by the Metropolitan Police as part of a murder investigation into the fatal stabbing of a teenager in North London.
Two-Week Manhunt Concludes with Arrest
Officers arrested Abdel Dedour on Boxing Day, 26 December, bringing to an end an intensive two-week search. The manhunt was launched following the death of 15-year-old Adam Henry on Westbourne Road in the Islington area.
The tragic incident occurred at approximately 1pm on Monday, 9 December. Emergency services, including police and London Ambulance Service paramedics, rushed to the scene. Adam was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead.
Multiple Detentions Made in North-West London
The arrest of Abdel Dedour was part of a larger police operation at an address in north-west London. In total, five individuals were detained by investigating officers on Boxing Day.
Alongside the 22-year-old murder suspect, three men and one woman, aged between 18 and 47, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. The 47-year-old woman faced an additional arrest for an assault on a police officer.
One of the male suspects, aged 39, was further arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and driving offences. A police spokesperson confirmed that all five remained in custody as the inquiry continued.
Family's Tribute and Ongoing Court Case
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, stated: "Our thoughts remain with Adam’s loved ones throughout this unimaginably difficult time." He emphasised that there is no place for such violence on London's streets and praised his team's tireless work.
Adam's family, who are being supported by specialist officers, released a heartfelt statement through the Met. They described him as a "good natured and loyal" boy with many interests, known for his smile and cheeky sense of humour.
"He was a loving son, brother, nephew, grandson, friend and we will never recover from the loss and not having him in our lives," they said.
In a related development, Tsidi Winion, 20, of Handyside Street, Camden, was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on 15 December. He is set to face trial next year in connection with Adam's death.
