Major Drug Bust on Wolverhampton Street
West Midlands Police have made a significant seizure of suspected class A drugs, uncovering 348 individual wraps during a vehicle stop in Wolverhampton. The operation took place on Friday, November 7, after officers observed what they described as suspicious activity in the area.
Dramatic Arrest Following Suspicious Activity
The incident began when police attention was drawn to suspicious activity on Graisley Row. Officers subsequently stopped a vehicle on nearby Penn Road. According to police statements, both occupants of the car attempted to flee the scene but were quickly apprehended and detained by attending officers.
Following the arrest, searches were conducted which led to the discovery of 348 small packages believed to contain both heroin and crack cocaine. A photograph released by West Midlands Police shows the substantial haul laid out across multiple plastic wallets on a desk.
Charges Brought and Forensic Analysis Underway
Two men, aged 25 and 42, have now been formally charged with possession of both heroin and cocaine with intent to supply. The suspects were scheduled to make their first appearance at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Monday, November 10.
The investigation continues as the substances found within the packages will undergo forensic analysis to confirm their exact composition. This seizure represents a major success for local policing teams in their ongoing efforts to combat drug supply in the Wolverhampton area.
