Armed Police and Bomb Squad on Northfield Street After Evacuations

Armed police have sealed off a Birmingham street and residents have been evacuated from their homes amid an ongoing incident. Firearms officers were reported to be 'everywhere' in Birch Road, Northfield, which was taped off by police this afternoon, Saturday, May 9.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit Deployed

It is understood that an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit was dispatched to the street at around 2pm. A resident told BirminghamLive: 'Houses evacuated Birch Road, Northfield. All houses evacuated. Bomb squad on the way, army are on the way now. Armed police everywhere.'
