Armed Police Arrest Suspected Drug Dealer in Stockland Green Street Operation
In a dramatic early morning operation, armed police officers descended on a Birmingham street, blocking a car and arresting a suspected drug dealer believed to be in possession of a weapon. The incident unfolded on Slade Road in the Stockland Green area of Erdington, where around seven armed officers, dressed entirely in black, detained Kurt Davis.
Dramatic Scene Unfolds on Slade Road
The operation took place shortly before 8am on Monday, March 23, with marked and unmarked police vehicles, their blue lights flashing, converging near the junction of Slade Road and Rosary Road. Officers swiftly stopped a car, leading to the arrest of Davis, who was immediately placed in handcuffs and surrounded by police personnel.
Eyewitnesses reported that passers-by, including a woman and child outside a nearby barber's shop, were ushered away from the scene as the arrest proceeded. One individual attempting to walk along the pavement where the police and suspect were located was redirected to ensure public safety during the high-stakes operation.
Charges and Court Proceedings
Kurt Davis, aged 43, of Lukes Walk in Lichfield, was taken into custody and subsequently charged with serious offences. He faces charges of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, an alleged offence dating back to Thursday, March 19. Additionally, he was charged with possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, relating directly to the day of his arrest.
Following his detention, Davis appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, March 24, where he was granted bail under strict conditions. These conditions include a curfew from 7pm to 7am, a requirement to live and sleep at his Lichfield address while on bail, a prohibition from visiting Alvechurch Road, and mandatory reporting to Lichfield Police Station.

The case is set to continue, with Davis scheduled to appear next at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday, April 21.
