Armed police and paramedics have responded to a serious incident at a Birmingham tower block. Firearm officers rushed to Wickets Tower in Edgbaston's Wyatt Close earlier this afternoon, Friday, May 1.
Officers with guns were pictured outside the residential high-rise, which is opposite Edgbaston Stadium. One officer was seen walking to a police vehicle parked outside the building.
Footage taken by BirminghamLive shows a number of paramedics also at the scene. At one point, a resident appears to scan themselves into the tower block before being escorted by an officer.
The exact nature of the incident is not yet clear. Wickets Tower is located near Pershore Road.
