Arson Probe After Small Heath Building Fire

An arson investigation has been launched following a deliberate building fire in Small Heath, Birmingham. West Midlands Police and fire crews were called to a property on Somerville Road in the early hours of Saturday, June 13, after reports of a blaze.

The fire was quickly extinguished, and thankfully no injuries were reported. Investigators have confirmed that the fire was started deliberately and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police Appeal for Information

The scene was cordoned off on Saturday but has since been reopened. West Midlands Police stated: "We are investigating following an arson attack on a property in Small Heath. We were called to reports of a fire at an address on Somerville Road at around 3:30am yesterday (Saturday). Following enquiries alongside our fire colleagues, the fire is being treated as arson. Thankfully no one was injured."
