Birmingham's Worst ASB Hotspots Revealed: Aston and Small Heath Top List

Thousands of antisocial behaviour incidents have been reported to West Midlands Police in Birmingham over the past year, with Aston and Small Heath & Highgate emerging as the worst hotspots, each recording 319 offences. Longbridge is just behind with 316 incidents.

Residents' Lives Made a Misery

While antisocial behaviour (ASB) may sometimes be dismissed as minor, it can cause serious anxiety for residents who should feel safe in their own homes. The data covers the 12 months to February and only includes reported incidents, as some victims suffer in silence for fear of reprisals.

What Constitutes ASB?

ASB includes a range of offences, most commonly rowdy or intimidating behaviour. This can involve youths shouting in the street, loitering late at night in residential areas or outside shops, takeaways, and pubs. Revving engines late into the night and more serious incidents like harassment also fall under this category.
