Police have launched an investigation after a Birmingham bus driver was assaulted and racially abused on the number 27 bus service in Kings Heath. The attack occurred near Brandwood Road at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, June 23.
Driver left with non-serious injuries
The driver was racially abused and sustained non-serious injuries in the incident, according to West Midlands Police. Officers have released CCTV images of two men they are keen to identify in connection with the assault.
One of the men is pictured topless with a bag over his shoulder, wearing a hat. The second man, with short dark hair, is seen wearing a white t-shirt.
Police appeal for information
A force spokesperson said: "Recognise these men? We'd like to speak to them after a bus driver was assaulted and racially abused. It happened at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, June 23, near Brandwood Road in Kings Heath, on the Number 27 bus to Rubery."
The spokesperson added: "The bus driver thankfully didn’t suffer serious injuries and we have kept in contact with him during our investigation."
