A 33-year-old man died at the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Tyburn Road in the early hours of July 27, after his Ford Focus left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned. Two passengers sustained serious injuries and remain in hospital.

West Midlands Police were called to Tyburn Road, near the junction with Walker Drive, at approximately 2.15am. The grey Ford Focus had exited the road before hitting a tree and rolling onto its roof. Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service found the driver in a critical condition. Despite advanced life support administered after firefighters helped extricate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A force spokesperson said: "We're appealing for information after a man died following a collision in Birmingham. We were called to Tyburn Road, near to the junction of Walker Drive, at around 2.15am following reports of a serious collision. A 33-year-old man, the driver of a grey Ford Focus was found seriously injured. Sadly, he died at the scene."
Passengers hospitalised
The two male passengers were treated for serious injuries. One man had serious injuries, while the third man had potentially serious injuries. Both were conveyed under emergency conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment, according to a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman.
The spokeswoman added: "On arrival, crews found one car had come off the road, hit a tree and rolled onto its roof. The driver, a man, was in a critical condition. After being removed from the car with the assistance of fire colleagues, medics immediately began administering advanced life support. Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene."
Police investigation and appeal
West Midlands Police have launched an investigation to establish the exact circumstances of the tragedy. The road remained closed for several hours but was expected to reopen later in the morning. Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage from the area around 2.15am.
