Violent Small Heath Knife Attack Leads to Jail Sentence and Manhunt
A man has been sentenced to prison following a brutal street assault in Birmingham, while his alleged accomplice remains at large with a substantial reward offered for information.
Details of the Assault
Taylor Burns, aged 26 from Sutton Coldfield, was involved in a violent incident on Monica Road in Small Heath. The attack occurred around 6pm last year, where Burns and another man assaulted a victim on a quad bike.
The pair pulled up outside an address, pushed the man to the ground, and slashed him multiple times with a flick knife. Fortunately, the victim sustained injuries that were not life-threatening or life-changing.
Legal Proceedings and Sentence
West Midlands Police identified and arrested Burns. He pleaded guilty to section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a knife.
At a court hearing on Monday, March 16, Burns was sentenced to six years and six months in prison for his role in the violent assault.
Ongoing Manhunt for Accomplice
Police have identified Jafir Nazir, aged 29, as the second attacker involved in the incident. Nazir remains wanted for attempted murder and is currently on the run.
