A South Wales Police spokesperson stated at the time: "Officers attended Aberavon beachfront at around 1.40pm yesterday (July 20) following a report of anti-social behaviour. Upon arrival the man concerned was identified to be subject to police bail conditions of which he was in breach. The man - 70-years-old and from Birmingham - was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article. He is currently in police custody."
