Birmingham Murder Suspect Zachariah Liburd Still at Large After Three Months
Detectives in Birmingham are intensifying their efforts to locate a murder suspect who remains on the run three months after a fatal stabbing incident. The prime suspect, identified as Zachariah Liburd, aged 22, is wanted in connection with the death of Chris Ikouara, 19, who was knifed at an address on Olton Boulevard East in Acocks Green on January 13.
Ongoing Police Investigation and Public Appeals
West Midlands Police have launched a widespread manhunt for Liburd, who has evaded capture since the attack. In a bid to gather crucial information, authorities have partnered with Crimestoppers to offer a £10,000 reward for details leading to his arrest. An appeal was also broadcast on BBC's Crimewatch, highlighting the desperation to bring him in for questioning.
Detective Superintendent Jim Munro has issued a direct plea to Liburd, urging him to "do the right thing before we find you." Meanwhile, Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole emphasized the importance of community assistance, stating that any information, no matter how small, could be vital to the case.
Victim Remembered by Devastated Family
Chris Ikouara was pronounced dead at the scene of the stabbing. His family has described him as a "caring" and "deeply-cherished" individual, expressing their grief and hope for justice. West Midlands Police have reiterated that their thoughts remain with the family, underscoring the urgency of solving this case to provide closure.
The investigation continues to focus on locating Zachariah Liburd, whose whereabouts are currently unknown. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, assuring confidentiality through Crimestoppers or direct contact with officers.
