A boy is fighting for his life after a horrific two-car crash in Birmingham. The incident occurred on the A34 Walsall Road near the junction with Birchfield Road at around 3:30 PM on Tuesday.
Details of the Crash
West Midlands Police confirmed that two cars were involved in the collision. The boy, whose age has not been released, was rushed to Birmingham Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in a critical condition.
Police have stated that the driver of the other car, a man in his 30s, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.
Emergency Response
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car to the scene. A spokesman said: "On arrival, crews discovered a boy in a critical condition. He received advanced trauma care at the scene before being taken to hospital."
The road was closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene, causing severe traffic disruption in the area.
Investigation and Appeals
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. Sergeant Alan Roper said: "This was a serious collision that has left a young boy fighting for his life. We need to establish exactly what happened."
