The break-in occurred on Sunday, July 12, following the late-night match on Saturday. The Victoria Ground, home to Bromsgrove Sporting FC, was targeted along with the on-site burger restaurant Hangry Moose. The club reported that the individuals attempted to disable the security system, but backup systems contained the incident.
Impact on the Club
Bromsgrove Sporting FC operates as a cashless business, meaning no cash was on site. The impact is limited to repair costs and lost trade while the club remains closed. The Hangry Moose restaurant was also closed for the day to allow authorities to investigate and staff to repair the damage.
Club Statement
In a statement on social media, the club said: 'On Saturday (July 11), we hosted a sold-out World Cup event with more than 800 people. On Sunday (July 12), following the event, Bromsgrove Sporting FC and Hangry Moose was broken into. The individuals responsible were prepared & deliberate. They attempted to disable our security. Because we hold backup systems, the incident was contained. We are a cashless, card only business. There was no cash on site to take. The impact is limited to repair costs and lost trade while we are closed. We have decided to close the Bromsgrove Hangry Moose site today so the authorities can carry out their investigation and our team can repair the damage.'
