Two brothers from Wolverhampton have been formally charged with the murder of a 30-year-old father who was stabbed to death on Christmas Day.

Fatal Christmas Day Attack

Trey Johnson was discovered with serious injuries in Burcot Avenue, Wolverhampton, in the early hours of December 25, 2025. Emergency services were called to the scene just after 3.30am.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the 30-year-old, who had been stabbed, was pronounced dead at the location. Mr Johnson was a father-of-two.

Charges and Court Appearance

Following an investigation by West Midlands Police, two brothers were arrested on January 7, 2026. They have since been charged with multiple offences.

Richard Beckles, 19, and Tiego Beckles, 20, both from Wolverhampton, now face charges of murder, wounding with intent, and threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place.

The pair were due to make their first appearance at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Ongoing Investigation and Appeal

Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell, from the force's homicide team, stated that the charges marked a significant step in the inquiry, but emphasised that the investigation is continuing.

"We are still keen to hear from anyone with information about what happened – and would urge anyone who has not yet done so to please get in touch," said Det Insp Cordell.

The police force confirmed that Mr Johnson's family are being supported by specialist officers and are being kept fully informed of all developments. Their thoughts remain with the bereaved family.
