Brother of Missing Birmingham City Fan, 18, Issues Heartfelt 'Please Come Home' Plea
Andrew Fuller has made an emotional public appeal for the safe return of his missing younger brother, Paul Pike, describing him as the 'perfect best mate for anyone'. Paul, an 18-year-old Birmingham City supporter, has been missing since last week, with his last confirmed sighting outside Pride Park Stadium in Derby at 12.43pm on March 21.
Search Efforts Intensify in Derby
Andrew, 38, spoke to the media in Derby alongside a dedicated search party as they combed riverbanks and local areas in a desperate bid to find Paul. He expressed deep worry and concern for his brother's wellbeing, stating, 'We're just worried and want him back.' This visit marks the second time Andrew has traveled to Derby since Paul's disappearance, with family members continuously searching across various locations.
Paul had traveled to Derby for an away game, and Andrew noted that this match was likely Paul's first without him or their mother in attendance. 'Most of the games I'm with him, it's just I wasn't at this particular one,' Andrew explained, highlighting the unusual circumstances of Paul's solo trip.
A Devoted Sports Fan with Much to Look Forward To
Andrew painted a picture of his brother as a passionate sports enthusiast. Paul is described as a 'massive fan' of the Warwickshire Bears cricket team, with a particular admiration for all-rounder Chris Woakes, and a 'super fan' of WWE wrestling. In a touching gesture of hope, Andrew revealed he has already purchased tickets for Paul to attend Birmingham City's next away match at Hull on April 18, emphasizing that Paul still has the upcoming cricket season to enjoy.
'He's a lovely 18-year-old to hang around, and my brother's the perfect best mate for anyone,' Andrew said, underscoring the close bond between the siblings and Paul's positive character.
Community Support and Police Appeal
Andrew extended heartfelt thanks for the overwhelming 'love and support' shown by fans of both Birmingham City and Derby County, stating it has 'surpassed any feelings I can describe.' This community solidarity has been a source of comfort during the distressing search.
Derbyshire Constabulary has issued an official appeal for information regarding Paul's whereabouts. Authorities are urging anyone who has seen Paul or has any details to contact them, quoting reference number 1095 of March 24. Andrew concluded his plea with a direct message to his brother: 'If you're reading this, Paul, please come home. Everyone is concerned and wants you back.'
