British Transport Police (BTP) detectives are urgently appealing for witnesses after concerns were raised for the welfare of a young boy seen at Sutton Coldfield train station late at night with a man and a woman.
Incident Details
The boy, described as black and around 10 years old, was spotted at the station at approximately 10pm on Friday, July 17. He was wearing a blue t-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, and a black rucksack, and was carrying a mountain bike.
A witness reported their concerns to BTP on Saturday, July 18, prompting an investigation. Detectives have been working to identify the boy and trace those who may have seen him that evening.
Description of the Couple
Police are particularly keen to speak to a man and a woman who were seen with the child at the station on the same evening. The pair are described as white and in their mid-fifties.
The man was wearing a white t-shirt, dark trousers, and has short grey hair. The woman was wearing glasses, a blue top with white spots, white trousers, and had shoulder-length grey/blonde hair.
Appeal for Information
A BTP spokesperson said: "British Transport Police detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after concerns were raised for a child’s welfare in the Sutton Coldfield area. A witness reported concerns to BTP on Saturday 18 July, after seeing the young boy at Sutton Coldfield station at around 10pm the night before (17 July)."
The spokesperson added: "Detectives have been working to identify the young boy or speak to anyone who may have encountered him that evening. They are particularly keen to hear from a man and a woman who were seen with the child at the station on the same evening."
