Thieves Who Boasted 'Road to a Million' Jailed for Stripping Nearly 100 Cars
Car Cannibals Jailed for Stripping Nearly 100 Vehicles

Two car cannibals who bragged they were on the 'road to a million' after stripping almost 100 vehicles across the West Midlands have been jailed for four years and three months. Mohammed Khan and Mohammed Haydar, both 23, filmed themselves on Snapchat as they drove with a stolen bumper, laughing and boasting about their crimes.

Brazen Social Media Posts

In one video, Haydar can be seen laughing behind the wheel while Khan boasts: "This is what it's all about - family. Ah, road to a million you know." They captioned the clip: "This Guy had no love for that COROLLA." The pair would regularly film themselves carrying out thefts and post photos of stripped vehicles on social media, bragging about their exploits, according to West Midlands Police.

Extensive Crime Spree

The duo carried out their offences between December 2022 and October 2024 across the West Midlands region. They would approach parked cars and strip them of parts within minutes, stealing headlights, bumpers, mirrors, bonnets, and more. Victims included Birmingham City Football Club supporters, who found their vehicles stripped while parked near St. Andrews at Knighthead Park on matchdays.

Investigation and Arrests

The Vehicle Crime Team investigated Khan and Haydar for over three years, reviewing hundreds of hours of CCTV, conducting forensic examinations, and executing multiple warrants at their homes. Video footage captures the moment police stormed one of their homes, with a thief asking 'what for?' as officers entered.

Khan pleaded guilty to all 98 offences, while Haydar admitted to 20. Detective Constable Choudhury, who led the investigation, said: "Both Haydar and Khan were meticulous in their offending. They carefully planned each theft that they carried out, where they would cause serious distress to their victims who were left with vehicles without parts. Thankfully, we have been able to put together an extensive investigation which found both Haydar and Khan carried out almost 100 cannibalism offences, and now they will be spending time behind bars."

Impact on Victims

Car owners were left unable to carry out everyday duties after finding their vehicles stripped of essential parts. The thefts caused significant distress and inconvenience, particularly for matchday fans who had parked near the stadium.
