Police have launched a public appeal for information after a significant quantity of alcohol was stolen from a supermarket in a Birmingham shopping centre.

CCTV Images Released in Connection with Theft

West Midlands Police have issued blurry CCTV images of six individuals they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. The theft occurred at a store within the Swan Centre on Coventry Road in Yardley, understood to be the Tesco supermarket.

Details of the Early Morning Raid

The raid took place in the early hours of Tuesday, 4 December, at approximately 7:10am. At that time, the Tesco was one of only two units open in the centre, the other being a tanning shop.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: “A large amount of alcohol was stolen from a store at the Swan Centre, Coventry Road, Yardley, at around 7.10am on 4 November.”

Descriptions of Those Sought by Police

The images show a group of six people. The individuals police want to identify include:

  • A woman with dark hair tied up, wearing a grey coat over a black top.
  • A man in a black cap.
  • A person in a black Parka-style coat with a fur-trimmed hood.
  • A man wearing a black balaclava and a dark coat.
  • A man with a green coat, a black beanie hat, and what looks like a rucksack.
  • A man with a beard and a white or light-coloured coat.
