Incident Details at Colmore Row Christmas Market
The incident occurred on Sunday, December 14, at approximately 3:10pm on Colmore Row. A woman was taking photographs of the popular Birmingham Christmas market when she was approached by a thief who snatched her mobile phone directly from her hand before fleeing the scene.
CCTV Images Released in Investigation
Following extensive CCTV enquiries, police have now released images of a man they urgently wish to identify and speak to regarding the theft. The individual is described as:
- White male
- Approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall
- Brown, curly hair
In the CCTV footage, the man is seen wearing distinctive clothing including a black jacket, a rucksack, light grey trousers, and black trainers. One image shows the suspect running from the area.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: "We're appealing for information after a woman taking photos of the Christmas Market was approached and had her phone snatched from her hand on Colmore Row, shortly before 3.10pm on 14 December.
