Incident Details at Colmore Row Christmas Market
The incident occurred on Sunday, December 14, at approximately 3:10pm on Colmore Row. A woman was taking photographs of the popular Birmingham Christmas market when she was approached by a thief who snatched her mobile phone directly from her hand before fleeing the scene.
CCTV Images Released in Investigation
Following extensive CCTV enquiries, police have now released images of a man they urgently wish to identify and speak to regarding the theft. The individual is described as:
- White male
- Approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall
- Brown, curly hair
In the CCTV footage, the man is seen wearing distinctive clothing including a black jacket, a rucksack, light grey trousers, and black trainers. One image shows the suspect running from the area.
Police Appeal for Public Assistance
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: "We're appealing for information after a woman taking photos of the Christmas Market was approached and had her phone snatched from her hand on Colmore Row, shortly before 3.10pm on 14 December. Following CCTV enquiries, we'd like to identify the man in the images."
