Police have made an arrest after dozens of cars were vandalised on the same street in Birmingham. The incident occurred overnight, leaving numerous vehicles with smashed windows and other damage.
Arrest Made Following Spate of Car Vandalism
West Midlands Police confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection with the damage. The suspect is currently in custody and is being questioned by officers. The force said it responded to reports of cars being damaged on a residential street in the city.
Residents Shocked by Overnight Destruction
Residents woke up to find their cars with broken windows, dented panels, and other damage. Many expressed shock and anger at the destruction. One resident said, "It's terrible. I came out this morning to find my car window smashed. It's a nightmare." Another added, "This street has never had problems like this before. It's very unsettling."
Police Investigation Underway
Police are investigating the incident and have urged anyone with information or CCTV footage to come forward. Officers are also increasing patrols in the area to reassure the community. Detective Inspector Mark Ward said, "We understand the distress this has caused residents. We are working hard to establish the full circumstances and ensure those responsible are brought to justice."
