County Lines Drug Dealer Sentenced to Six Years After Birmingham Police Pursuit
This is the dramatic moment a county lines drug dealer was arrested in Birmingham after making a desperate attempt to discard incriminating evidence from his car window. Reo Seivwright, a 28-year-old resident of Balsall Common in Solihull, was pursued by police in connection with operating a drugs line into Dudley in the Black Country.
Dangerous Chase Through Residential Streets
A joint operation between West Midlands Police's County Lines Taskforce and road traffic officers located and pursued Seivwright on Wednesday, February 4. He was followed onto Rubery Lane in Birmingham, where he accelerated to speeds of 70mph in a 30mph residential area, recklessly overtaking other vehicles and forcing cars to move out of the way. Police briefly lost sight of Seivwright, but traffic officers spotted his car again shortly afterward and arrested him.
In body-worn camera footage, officers can be heard shouting 'stay there, stay there' and 'turn that off now'. During the arrest, police found a blade in his waistband while asking if he had anything he shouldn't. Seivwright admitted to having a knife on him as he was placed in handcuffs.
Evidence Recovery and Court Proceedings
Officers then retraced his route, discovering a phone and a bundle of crack cocaine and heroin at the roadside of New Street in Frankley on the edge of the city. The phone was analyzed, revealing messages detailing meet-ups and timings for drug users to contact him, dating back to August 21, 2025. Among the messages were phrases like 'fresh week and I'm on till 7.30 maybe 8pm' and another urging recipients not to miss out, stating 'don't forget and don't miss out I'm on till 7.30pm'.
Seivwright appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday, March 12, after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, being concerned in the supply of these Class A drugs, dangerous driving, and possession of a blade in a public place. He was sentenced to six years in prison and disqualified from driving for six years and nine months.
Police Statement and Community Impact
Detective Sergeant Leighton Shingles, from the County Lines Taskforce, commented: "This was a significant drugs operation run by Seivwright throughout Dudley in supplying Class A drugs to people in our communities. Thanks to the joint operation with our traffic team, we were able to arrest Seivwright and stop him in his tracks. I hope this sentence shows others who think they can be involved in the supply of drugs in Dudley and our towns and cities across the West Midlands area, that you will be investigated and put behind bars for your crimes."
A West Midlands Police spokesperson added: "Our teams across the West Midlands work round the clock to identify, investigate and prosecute suspected County Lines drug dealers. These criminals exploit vulnerable people and inflict misery on them and their families by introducing them to a life of crime." Police have urged the public to check their county lines information on how to spot the signs of such operations.
