West Midlands Police have launched an investigation following a disturbance outside The Goose pub in Selly Oak, Birmingham, after England's World Cup quarter-final win against Norway. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, June 12, when officers were called to reports of an assault on Bristol Road.
Footage circulating online, reviewed by BirminghamLive, shows a group of men arguing with door staff at the venue. During the altercation, a man is seen holding an advertisement board and punching it. An onlooker was heard asking, "Bro, we literally won, why are you fighting?" before singing a rendition of Atomic Kitten's 'Southgate You're the One'.

According to West Midlands Police, a man was kicked and a second man was threatened with an advertisement board. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. A force spokesperson stated: "We received a report of assault outside a pub on Bristol Road, Birmingham, in the early hours of Sunday. A man was kicked and a second man was threatened with an advertisement board. Thankfully no injuries were reported."
Appeal for Information
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. The spokesperson added: "Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting 20/320840/26."
