Four men and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested after West Midlands Police pursued a stolen car from Birmingham in the early hours of July 21. The vehicle was stolen from the Hockley area at around 12:30 a.m., and officers spotted it approximately 25 minutes later in Smethwick.
Pursuit ends in Edgbaston
Following a police pursuit, the car came to a stop on Stirling Road in Edgbaston. The occupants fled the vehicle, but police quickly detained them. The four men, aged between 19 and 44, and the 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
All five remain in custody as of this afternoon, where they will be questioned by detectives.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We've arrested five people after pursuing and recovering a stolen car from Birmingham this morning (21 July). A vehicle was stolen from the Hockley area at around 12:30 a.m. It was spotted around 25 minutes later in Smethwick and following a pursuit the car came to a stop in Stirling Road, Edgbaston. The occupants of the vehicle made off but, following quick-time enquiries, we detained four men, aged between 19 and 44, along with a 15-year-old boy. They have been taken into custody for questioning on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle."
The spokesperson added: "We know the impact and inconvenience of vehicle theft. We'll always seek to catch those involved in such crimes."
