Police have erected blue tents in the front garden of a house on Primrose Close in Cradley Heath after hand grenades, firearms, and ammunition were discovered inside the property. The bomb squad was called in following a search on Tuesday, July 21, and a man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of firearms possession.
Search Underway
West Midlands Police officers remain at the scene today (Wednesday, July 22) as searches continue. Blue forensic tents have been set up in the front garden, and the area remains cordoned off. Detectives have stated there is not thought to be a wider risk to the public.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "A man is in custody after a number of weapons and ammunition have been recovered from a property in Cradley Heath. Officers are carrying out searches at an address in Primrose Close. Inside they found firearms and ammunition, as well as several hand grenades and other weapons."
Arrest and Investigation
The arrested man remains in custody as investigations continue. Police are urging anyone with information or concerns to speak to officers at the scene or call 101, quoting log 3939 of 21 July. The discovery has prompted a major police operation in the quiet residential street.
