The 30-year-old suspect had been sought after an officer suffered a head injury during an attempt to detain a man on the Soho Road on 3 July. He was arrested in the Selly Oak area today at around 12.30pm."
The statement continued: "He is being held on suspicion of wounding with intent of one officer on the Soho Road, and the attempted wounding with intent of a second officer. The suspect was also wanted on suspicion of a number of other offences including burglary and assault. We would like to thank everyone who has shared previous appeals as part of this investigation."
