A 33-year-old man was arrested following a large emergency services response near a major Birmingham shopping centre. Police and paramedics were called to Aldridge Road in Perry Barr, close to the One Stop Shopping Centre, shortly before 5pm yesterday (May 1).
Images from the scene showed a long line of police vehicles and ambulances. West Midlands Police confirmed that officers assisted ambulance colleagues at the scene. The man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and remains in custody for questioning.
A force spokesperson said: "We were called to assist ambulance service colleagues at an address in Aldridge Road at just before 5pm yesterday, May 1. A 33-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. He is currently in custody for questioning."
