A significant quantity of Class-A drugs has been removed from the streets of Redditch following a targeted police operation this morning. Officers arrested a man after discovering cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value of £20,000.
Dramatic Raid on Prospect Road
The action unfolded at a property on Prospect Road North on the morning of Thursday, December 18. Acting on intelligence about suspected drug dealing, officers from the Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team, supported by County Lines specialists and a dog handler, executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant.
During the search, police witnessed a man throwing three bags of suspected drugs and approximately 500 wraps from a bedroom window in an attempt to dispose of evidence. A further 200 wraps were discovered bagged up inside the bedroom.
Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class-A drugs. He was taken into police custody for questioning.
The seized substances were confirmed to be heroin and cocaine. Inspector Rich Field, Safer Neighbourhood Inspector for Redditch, stated the operation was a direct response to community intelligence. "The harm illegal drugs such as these reap on our communities is well documented," Inspector Field said. "We will continue to disrupt and pursue those peddling them to keep our town safe."
