West Midlands Police have made an arrest following a serious hit-and-run incident in Wolverhampton that left a pedestrian hospitalised.
Details of the Goldthorn Hill Collision
The incident occurred at approximately 8.40pm on Saturday, December 20. According to police, a Seat Ibiza was involved in a collision with another car on Goldthorn Hill at the junction with Fowler Street. The vehicle then mounted the pavement, striking a woman who was walking there.
The driver of the Seat Ibiza failed to stop at the scene. Emergency services attended and the female pedestrian, who is in her 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment. Her condition is currently described as stable.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Following enquiries, officers arrested a 28-year-old man on Monday, December 22 in connection with the event. He was taken into custody for questioning.
The suspect is being held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a collision. A police spokesperson confirmed that he remains in custody as their investigation continues.
