A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a murder investigation in Birmingham following the death of Michael Bennett.
Incident Details
On March 27, shortly before 1am, Michael Bennett was found unconscious on the pavement in Reservoir Road, Erdington. The 38-year-old was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and tragically died on April 10.
Arrest Made
Detectives arrested a man on suspicion of murder today (April 24). He remains in custody for questioning.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses, particularly those who were in the vicinity when Michael was discovered. Some individuals who tried to help him have not yet come forward.
Police Appeal
Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell, leading the investigation, said: "This is a significant development in our investigation. We are still continuing to appeal for witnesses to get in touch with us."
She added: "I'd ask for anyone who was in the vicinity of Reservoir Road between 9.30pm on Thursday 26th March and 12:55am on Friday 27th March 2026 and may have seen Michael to come forward and tell us what you know."
