A 24-year-old man is facing serious charges after police executed a series of raids targeting a suspected county drugs line operating in the Black Country.
Warrants Executed in Walsall
West Midlands Police carried out multiple warrants in the Walsall area on 30 December as part of an active investigation. The operation, led by the force's dedicated County Lines Taskforce, was a direct response to intelligence about a suspected network supplying illegal substances.
Charges Laid Following Seizure
The police action resulted in the alleged seizure of a quantity of Class A drugs. Following the raids, officers charged Ashley Burrows, of Darlaston. The 24-year-old faces three specific charges:
- Being concerned in the supply of heroin
- Being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine
- Possession of heroin
- Possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply
Court Appearance and Ongoing Crackdown
Burrows was remanded in custody and was scheduled to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 31 December. A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police, which collaborated on the operation, confirmed the details of the charge.
The crackdown forms a key part of Operation Target, West Midlands Police's ongoing initiative to tackle serious and organised crime groups that cause significant harm within local communities.
