Man Charged with 44 Offences After Dozens of Cars Damaged

A man has been charged with 44 offences after reports that dozens of cars were damaged in Birmingham and Solihull. West Midlands Police said they received reports that scores of vehicles were damaged on Moseley Road in Highgate on Friday, June 12. Further reports were also made of vehicles being damaged on Park Avenue, Solihull, on June 1.

Charges Filed

Abbas Yusefi, 28, from Birmingham, has now been charged with 44 counts of criminal damage offences, police said. He was due to appear before magistrates on Monday, June 15.

Police Statement

In a statement, police said: 'A man is appearing at court today charged with dozens of criminal damage offences. We were called to Moseley Road, Birmingham, on Friday (12 June) morning to reports of dozens of cars being damaged.'

'Further reports were also made of vehicles being damaged on Park Avenue, Solihull, on 1 June. Abbas Yusefi, aged 28, of Birmingham, has now been charged with 44 counts of criminal damage offences. He was remanded in custody. He is set to appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today (15 June).'

The incidents have caused significant disruption and concern among local residents, with many vehicles having their front and rear windscreens smashed. Police continue to investigate and urge anyone with information to come forward.
