Man Charged with Murder After Erdington Death

A man has been charged with murder following the death of Michael Bennett in Erdington, West Midlands. Kevin Siviter, 42, from Birmingham, was arrested on Friday and charged with murder on Saturday. He is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Mr Bennett, 38, was found unconscious on the pavement of Reservoir Road shortly before 1am on March 27. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died on April 10.

Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell, leading the investigation for West Midlands Police, said: "Our thoughts remain with Michael’s family at this tragic time. While this is a significant development, we are still appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to please get in touch."

Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Reservoir Road between 9.30pm on March 26 and 12.55am on March 27 and may have seen Mr Bennett.
